2005/06 Coaching Staff

Amanda Jackson ~ Head Coach, Mini-Synchro Team, Tier 1 Team:

We are pleased to introduce Amanda Jackson as our Head Coach this season. Amanda, a former Markham swimmer, is a Level III Coach. Prior to joining our coaching staff for the 1999/2000 season, she was Head Coach at the Guelph Synchro Club. We are pleased to have Amanda again as a coach. Amanda's Varied and Combo teams last season enjoyed great successes and secured podium standings including 5 first place finishes, and also a noteworthy 2 nd place finish at a National level meet, the Eastern Divisional Challenge in Montreal. In the 2001/2002 season, our senior 15 – 20 Team, coached by Amanda, placed First in the Central Eastern Winter Games Qualifying Meet and proceeded to earn a Bronze medal in the 2002 Ontario Winter Games. The same team also secured a podium standing at the Ontario Age Group Championships. Amanda will also be a lead coach for our Tier 1 Team and will mentor a junior competitive coach.

Victoria Lee ~ Tier 1 Team

Victoria started her synchro career at MKSC in 1997 after a swimming instructor suggested she try synchro for something new. In 1999 she began competing with Markham and continued until she graduated from high-school in June of 2004. She then moved the Olympium Synchronized Swimming Club to swim at the National level. Currently Vicki is swimming on the Tier 7 Senior Team and attending the University of Toronto as a part-time sudent in psychology and business management. Victoria is currently working on her NCCP 2 certification. In the past Vicki has coached our recreational swimmers and the 10 and Under preset solo routine for the Ontario Trillium Championships. This is Vicki's second year as an assistant coach and we are pleased to have her with us again!

Heidi Nemeth ~ Tier 2 Team

Heidi comes to us most recently from the Guelph Synchro Club where she has coached for the last three years. Heidi swam at the National level for seven years, first with Durham Synchro and later with Synchro Optima. She coached for one year with Durham before attending the University of Guelph and earning her degree in Biological Sciences. Currently, Heidi is pursuing a joint degree through the University of Toronto and the Michener Institute in Medical Radiation Science. Heidi is a fully certified Level 2 coach, this year she will be coaching our Tier 2 team.

Kim Beveridge ~ Tier 5 Team, Tier 9 Solo

Kim has a rich synchro background as an athlete, she swam for 10 years, 8 years at the National level. During this time Kim had the opportunity to compete in two International meets, traveling to Scotland and Sweden . Kim began coaching in 1998 and coached with Burlington and Kingston before coming to Markham . Since joining the Markham Synchro Club, Kim has successfully coached both Tier 1 and Tier 6. This year Kim will be coaching our fabulous Tier 5 team, she will also be coaching a very exciting Tier 9 solo.

Jennie Kim ~ Tier 4 Duet, Tier 5 Duet

Jennie has a very long history with the Markham Synchro Club! Jennie started with Markham as an athlete, she swam for six years, helping the club to win many Provincial Titles. Jennie has successfully coached Markham swimmers to numerous podium finished and personal bests in solo, duets, team, and even Masters synchro! Last year Jennie coached our Tier 3 and 4 duets to 1 st places finishes at the Central Regional competition, qualifying them to swim in the Quebec/Ontario Cup. Both duets also had podium finishes at the Ontario Tier Championships. This year Jennie has returned to continue coaching these duets this year, we are looking forward to another amazing year!
