Ontario Winter Game Trials Print E-mail

This past weekend our competitive teams participated in their first meet of the season, Ontario Winter Game Trials.

Constanza, Delaynie, Catalina, Catlin, Vered, Maegan, Sarah This meet is very early in the season, typically our teams do not have to have their routines finished and polished until at least February.  All of our swimmers had good performances in their figures and we had two outstanding routine swims.  Both teams had their best swims of the season, not easy to do at the first competition.

Our 11-12 team overcame injuries and having to change patterns.  Our 13-15 team really came together as team with a swim that would have been great at the end of the season!

Both teams placed third (by very narrow margins) in their age categories.  We are very proud of all of our athletes both for their amazing performances and the way they represented our club.

We are looking forward to a fantastic competitive season!

Congratulations to our T6 swimmers and coaches who opened our competative season with a splash (sorry!)
On Saturday, Jan 24, Daniella placed third in figures and first in the solo competition.  Liz and Nicole also put in strong performances in figures and Liz did very well in her first solo.
Then on Sunday, Daniella and Nicole capped the weekend with a second place finish in their Duet competition.
Congratulations to our swimmers, to our coaches who prepared them so well, and the other swimmers and parents who came out to support them.

Burning Bright for Breast Cancer Print E-mail

Markham Synchro Club's 2008 fund raising for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation succesfully raised 50% more of what was ever done in this event.

Congratulations and many thanks to Kelly and the coaches for putting it together, to the parents who baked and staffed the bake sale tables and of course to the swimmers who kept that tourch high.
